Reservoir Management and Field Development Planning

25, 26, 27, 28 & 29 July 2021 | 1200 hrs | Muscat, Oman

Course Description

This course will introduce a practical view for several reservoir engineering aspects like material balance calculations, Monte Carlo simulation analysis for reserve estimation, decline curve analysis, production allocation and water flooding design.

Also the course will show the theory, practical calculations and usage for each tool so that the trainee can have a deep learning not just knowing the buttons functions.

In this course you will learn how to:

  • Model the reservoir through MBE tool assuming several scenarios for history matching and prediction.
  • Use well model (IPR & VLP) through the MBE calculations to enhance the prediction process accuracy.
  • Monitor fluid contacts (OWC & GOC) to have a deeper insight for reservoir management and surveillance.
  • Design the drilling plan for future activities based on prediction results.
  • Design the field development plan (FDP) for a new field.
  • Model high volatile oil reservoirs with variable PVT properties versus depth.
  • Model multiple juxtaposed connected reservoirs and transmissibility estimation between them.
  • Assign daily contract quantity of gas (DCQ) and swing factors for gas contract terms and conditions.
  • Characterize Tight gas reservoir and predict production performance.
  • Calculate a series of values for original hydrocarbon in place (OHIP) using histogram analysis and cumulative distribution function to enhance in asset evaluation studies.
  • Predict reservoir or well production and determine asset life time.
  • Design water flooding project according to reservoir properties and predict production performance.
  • Prepare integrated studies for reservoir characterization, evaluation and production prediction based on various scenarios for included parameters.
